Every October a parent asks us whether there is a CMA exam centre in Coimbatore, or whether their child will have to travel to Chennai to write the exam.
Quick answer
Yes. Coimbatore is an ICMAI exam centre, and CMA Foundation, Intermediate and Final are all written here. You choose your centre yourself while filling the exam form on examicmai.in — not at registration, and not afterwards. Pick it carefully, because changing it later is not simple.
How you choose your CMA exam centre in Coimbatore
The centre is a field on the exam form, not on your registration. When you fill the form you select your centre from a dropdown of ICMAI centres, and the system assigns you a centre code. Coimbatore’s code has been 202 in recent notifications — confirm the current code on the exam notification at icmai.in before you submit, since ICMAI revises the centre list each session.
If you are unclear which form does what, read this first: CMA registration and CMA exam form are not the same thing.
Other centres in Tamil Nadu
Students from the western districts sometimes find one of these closer than Coimbatore:
| Coimbatore | Most convenient for Pollachi, Tiruppur and Palakkad students |
| Erode, Salem | Closer for students from Erode and Namakkal districts |
| Chennai, Madurai, Trichy, Tirunelveli, Vellore | Other ICMAI centres in the state |
The exact centres offered in any session are listed in the current notification, so check that list rather than assuming last session’s centres still apply.
Two mistakes that cost students the exam
- Choosing a centre near a hostel or workplace you are about to leave. Pick the city you will actually be in during exam week in December, not the one you happen to live in while filling the form.
- Assuming the venue is in the middle of town. The exact address is printed on your admit card and can be 10–15 km out. Travel to it once before exam day and plan for Coimbatore morning traffic.
The deadline that matters right now: the exam form for the December 2026 session closed without late fee on 10 October 2026. If you have not submitted it yet, the late-fee window (₹500 extra) runs only until 17 October 2026, so this is your last chance for this term. No exam form means no centre, no admit card and no exam — even if your registration is perfectly valid. Confirm the exact dates on icmai.in before paying, and see our step-by-step exam form guide.
At Masters Professional Academy in Peelamedu, we sit with our CMA students and fill the exam form together every session, centre selection included, because this one page costs more students an attempt than any paper in the syllabus. Once the form is done, the next thing to watch for is the CMA admit card for December 2026, which carries your exact venue address.
