Every CMA family asks the same question before paying the first fee: once the exams are cleared, does anyone actually come to hire?
Quick answer
Yes — ICMAI runs its own CMA campus placement programme for freshly qualified Cost Accountants, and the October–November 2026 phase is live right now. The Delhi interviews are over, Mumbai interviews run from 27 to 30 October, and Bengaluru slots are listed for 3 to 5 November. The published schedule lists recruiters including ITC, JSW Steel, ICICI Bank, Vedanta, Capgemini, HCL Tech, HUDCO and NBCC. But campus placement is an interview opportunity, not a guaranteed job: the companies do the shortlisting, and plenty of CMAs are hired outside campus as well.
What CMA campus placement actually is
ICMAI collects vacancies from companies and PSUs, then runs interview drives at its regional centres. You register through the Institute’s placement portal after your CMA Final result. Recruiters shortlist from that registered pool, and interviews are held on the listed date — some offline at a CMA Bhawan, some online.
Who can attend
Newly qualified CMAs — students who have passed CMA Final. Each company sets its own eligibility: some take only the latest passing term, some accept earlier terms, some ask for a minimum percentage or a specific skill. ICMAI shows the eligibility company by company against each slot, so read the slot, not a general rule.

ICMAI states the schedule is updated continuously, and regions are added as companies confirm. For students in Tamil Nadu, the Bengaluru slots in early November are the nearest in this phase — venue details were still marked “to be displayed shortly” when we checked, so confirm on the Institute’s page before travelling. The honest part, for a Coimbatore student
Registering is not being called. Shortlisting is done by the recruiting organisation, and many registered candidates never get an interview slot. Offline drives also mean travel and a night’s stay in another city, which is a real cost for a Coimbatore family.
So treat campus as one door, not the only one. Excel and basic SAP or Tally exposure help more than another certificate. Tip: Keep your résumé, result marksheet and a passport photo ready as PDFs before your result month. Campus registration windows are short, and a missing document is the most common reason students miss a drive.
